Little Albert

Little Albert

I went to Europe about a month ago and while I was there I saw this really creepy/sad music video. I saw it on Viva TV, but they only showed it once so I quickly forgot about it once I went outside and became a tourist again. When I came back to the U.S. I couldn’t remember the name of the group or the song, but a quick Google search of “music video” + “child crying” + “monsters” soon led me to it.

The song is entitled “Kids” by MGMT f.k.a. The Management. It features a baby surrounded by scary looking monsters and in turn the child is freaked out. Even though this isn’t first person perspective, I’m guessing we’re seeing the world through the child’s eyes as everything is unknown and can be quite scary. But the video is still hard to watch as the baby obviously doesn’t know what’s happening and is truly terrified. It almost reminds me of the Little Albert Experiment.

Make A Moving Rorschach Mask

RorschachMy favorite holiday of Halloween will be here sooner than you know it, so I’ve been perusing the interwebs in search of some cool costume ideas while there’s still time as I’m such a procrastinator.

I came across this video of someone who made a mask based on The Watchmen character Rorschach. YouTube user guinness0507 utilizes a thermochromic powder that he mixes with a transparent base to create a paint which can then be used on fabrics. When the wearer of the mask breathes and the temperature of the fabric reaches above 86 degrees F, it’ll show a cool “moving” effect similar to that of the Rorschach character.

This isn’t cheap as the powder alone is currently marketed at $45, but is it too expensive or a good investment knowing no one else will probably have it?

Celebrity Doppelgaengers – Amber Rose And Stains The Cupcake Dog

AmberRoseStainsAmber Rose, the stripper turned Kanye West girlfriend turned Ford model, showed up at an event in Las Vegas sporting vampire like ice blue contacts. I’m not surprised as her whole style has been different since she emerged on the arm of West. But her glare reminded me of another light-eyed beauty – Stains the cupcake dog!

Made famous on The Soup with Joel McHale, Stains appeared on Animal Planet’s “It’s Me Or The Dog” where dog trainer Victoria Stilwell holds a plate of cupcakes in front of him to test his willpower.

thediversepurseWe didn’t go anywhere! I was actually contemplating whether to keep The Diverse Purse going or not as there were some personal things happening in my life where I didn’t think I could contribute to the blog like I should. But after receiving some messages from readers wondering what happened, I felt the love and decided to keep posting.

Alright enough of the blabber, yadda, yadda, yadda. You’ll be seeing new posts soon.

Celebrity Doppelgaengers – Orly Taitz And The Chicken Lady

orlytaitzchickenladyI’ve been seeing this Orly (yes, really) “Birther Movement Leader” Taitz lately on many news shows touting her claim President Obama isn’t a U.S. citizen and she reminded me so much of someone yet I couldn’t quite put my finger on it. That is until I recently saw her being interviewed by David Shuster and Tamron Hall on MSNBC.

Throughout her stammer filled viewpoints and fluctuating octaves it finally hit me – The Chicken Lady from Canadians The Kids in the Hall! I use to love that show. Mark McKinney as the masturbation loving Chicken Lady, who explodes feathers everywhere at her peak, is a classic. Can’t you see, and hear, the similarities as well?
